A monk walks into a monastery far from home. He's interested in the religion these strange people practice, so he obtains permission from the abbot to do some exploring. As he enters the first corridor, he hears a soft and distant sound of eerie chant-like singing and sets off to investigate. His search leads him eventually to a large heavy closed door; he opens this portal a crack and peeks inside.
The room is huge, even bigger than the main cathedral in his home city. In the very center there is a large altar with the numeral 0 engraved on it; above the altar hangs a vast banner reading "NIX". All around kneel white-robed people uttering prayers to the Great Nullity and singing hyms to the Blessed Emptiness.
The young monk is shocked. He surveys the proceedings for a moment, then turns to a white-robed observer beside him and demands, "Is nothing sacred?"
